Open Courseware Revisited

I've found this article on MIT Open Courseware at PixelCharmer. It gives a great insight on why this is a good project and it also shows that people are praising the project for the wrong reason:
'The revolutionary action that MIT has taken is that they have provided the support their faculty needs to publish, and they have enlisted excellent designers to provide a seamless, browsable, interface to these course materials.'
MIT Open Courseware isn't unique after all: World Lecture Hall and Columbia Interactive.

MIT OpenCourseWare

The MIT as released the first batch of online course material as promissed some time ago. At the MIT OCW site we can read:
We hope the idea of openly sharing course materials will propagate throughout many institutions and create a global web of knowledge that will enhance the quality of learning and, therefore, the quality of life worldwide.
