In your face ...

It seems Scolari not only reads my posts but he also reads comments on my posts. Now if only he could get V. Baia back in the squad :-)

Portugal ended 23 years of being beated by Spain when it matered the most. It was even more rewarding after seeing the big celebrations Spain supporters made after Portugal had been beaten by Greece.

Firefox, Thunderbird and Charamel

Get Firefox 0.9 and you'll have a fast, usable, standard compliant browser.

Get Thunderbird 0.7 and you'll have a top of the notch e-mail client.

Mix both with the new Charamel Theme and you get this... very nice!

Scolari reads this blog

Or so it seems. After my rant about how he didn't use the Porto players in the national team squad he decided (after dozens of bad friendly games) it was time to give them a chance.

The result was a undisputed victory against Russia by 2-0. The same team that had given Spain so much trouble some days ago.

How to throw a chance away

Portugal is in the verge of throwing away the biggest chance they will ever have of winning the UEFA European Championship.

We have a club that won the UEFA Cup and the Champions League in two consecutive years using 9 Portuguese Players in their first squad. A team that can play together with their eyes closed. Still only 6 have been called for Euro 2004 and only 2 were in the initial line-up against Greece.

We are playing home and the Portuguese crowd has proven to be enthusiastic and supportive. Yet we managed to lose our first game against a theroetically weaker team.

In the end it won't be hard to find out what went wrong.

Well, we can only hope things get better in the next 2 games. *sigh*
