Carlos Sousa clinches World Championship

Eurosport - Rally Raid "It will probably sink in a couple of days that I am World Champion," said Sousa, the FIA Champion "But this has been a team effort and I thank Mitsubishi and my mechanics. The driver is only the face at the front of the team. I owe special credit to my mechanics, because they worked through the night in Turkey and Argentina on my car. This rally here was the most difficult round of the championship without doubt."

Joel on Unicode

On this article, Joel explains character encodings, and don't you dare not to learn about it...
The Absolute Minimum Every Software Developer Absolutely, Positively Must Know About Unicode and Character Sets (No Excuses!) So I have an announcement to make: if you are a programmer working in 2003 and you don't know the basics of characters, character sets, encodings, and Unicode, and I catch you, I'm going to punish you by making you peel onions for 6 months in a submarine. I swear I will.

Vodafone WiFi in Portugal

Vodafone Portugal announced their new WiFi service. 100 hotspots (28 already licensed) acessible to anyone with a 802.11b compatible nertwork card. To use the service you just have to send a SMS to a specific number. Prices are: 5 euros for 1 hour, 12 euros for 24h and 30 euros for 72h. I hope competition can bring these way down. Anyway it looks like a cool service.

K - Birthday party

I didn't even blog about my own birthday party ... Yes, K and me were born in the same day :-) He managed to survive one more birthday, well my house also survived it (kind of) :-P Thanks to everyone for showing up. And now to figure out what to do with all that food in my freezer...
Photos should be online as soon as they are online.
K - Birthday party I managed to survive one more birthday party, spent with a bunch of good friends. Now, on to the next event: Paintball, organized by my kid brother, on the eleventh...
And I'm looking forward for the Paintball event too. 18 people with guns: as K's brother said it will look like Viet Nam ... Don't expect photos of this one (at least not taken with my brand new camera).
